Originally this was a postcard sized photo sent by
Private Thomas Gould to his Mother, it was dated November
1909. Thomas is the 5th from the left in the middle
row, 4 men standing one with his hands in front, the
next man is Thomas sitting with hands folded and no
hat on. Postmark on the reverse was Tidworth,
Andover.

author's note: Orders were received for the 2nd battalion
to move from Kilworth camp Ireland. They left Waterford
on September 23rd 1909. On arrival at Tidworth, the battalion was
posted to the 7th Infantry Brigade under Brigadier-General
